Or should I call it the Bull Crap Series Games. I'm not sure I am in favor of a playoff, but the current system sucks. Presidents and other head turkeys have to drop the conference alliances and champion tie-ins. Teams like Texas Tech who have one bad game gets the Cotton Bowl as a reward for a 11-1 season. It's just a joke and popularity contest and who donates the most money.

According to the Birmingham News, Tommy Tuberville is out as the coach of the Auburn Tigers. Tuberville has been the coach of Auburn for the past 10 seasons and he compiled a 85-40 record. It is not known whether Tuberville was fired or if he resigned. Stay tuned for more details.

What a joke? The Braves paid the left-hander $48.5 million over six seasons, during which he made 85 starts and went 35-24 with a 4.10 ERA in 509 2/3 innings.

That works out to about $570,000 per start, $1.39 million per win, or $95,160 per inning, although insurance paid portions of his salary while he was on the disabled list.

Hampton made $78.5 million during that six-year stretch, the rest paid by the Colorado Rockies and Florida Marlins as part of the three-team trade that brought him to Atlanta in November 2002.

He signed a then-record eight-year, $121 million contract with Colorado before the 2001 season, and was traded after two disappointing seasons.

After going 63-31 with a 3.30 ERA in 133 starts over the four seasons before he signed the huge contract, Hampton went 56-52 with a 4.81 ERA in 147 starts during the eight-year deal.

Braves are desperate for starting pitching, but he rejects their higher offer to be closer to home. If someone had paid me 50 million dollars and I was hurt the whole time, I would feel obligated to that team.

My beloved Bulldogs went down in flames yesterday to our arch rival GA tech. It had been a nice holiday up until then. If we have to let them win one every 8 years, I guess I can live with that. Their new coach Paul Johnson is a gambler and I love his coaching style. His triple option attack racked up over 400 yards on the ground. The Bulldogs dominated the first half, but we had to play another one. That had been the story witht his team all year. It happened in the Alabama and Florida game as well. To say the least, this has been a very disappointing season. I guess there is always next year.

They were some exciting finishes today and earlier this evening. Two games came down to last second field goals. Nebraska came away victorous while LSU went home with another defeat.

This game looks like a one-sided affair, but do not sleep on Texas A&M.  The Aggies beat Texas last year. 

As for Texas, it is tied with Oklahoma and Texas Tech atop the Big 12 South Division standings. All three teams are in action this week, and if all three win as expected, the BCS standings will decide which of the three will face Missouri in the Big 12 championship game. It appears to be a two-team race between Texas and Oklahoma, and while Texas is currently ahead of the Sooners, it is widely speculated that a victory over Oklahoma State this weekend would vault the Sooners into the title tilt. That would undoubtedly anger the Longhorns, who beat the Sooners by double figures on a neutral field earlier in the season. The lone loss for Mack Brown's team came against Texas Tech in Lubbock on a long touchdown pass in the closing seconds. The most recent outing for Texas took place On November 15th against Kansas and resulted in a 35-7 win.

This violent type of fan reaction is called hooliganism, an activity which is especially associated with football (soccer), where it is called football hooliganism. Hooligans form clubs to fight with or attack the fans of the opposing team, and their brawls have led to injuries from thrown objects, stabbings, and beatings, and even to deaths.
